A Pakistan district and sessions court handed a three-year prison sentence to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, which involves the unauthorised sale of state gifts. Alongside the prison term, he has also been disqualified from participating in politics for a five-year period, as reported by local media. Additionally, a fine of Rs 100,000 has been imposed on the PTI chief by the court. Following the verdict, Khan was apprehended from his residence in Lahore's Zaman Park. The trial proceedings, presided over by Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Humayun Dilawar, concluded that the charges against Khan were substantiated. The court held that Khan had deliberately furnished false information about Toshakhana gifts to the Election Commission of Pakistan, and consequently, he was found guilty of engaging in corrupt practices. Under Section 174 of the Election Act, Khan was sentenced to three years in jail.
