Star Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, who has been the No. 1 batter for almost an year now, is on the cusp of joining the likes of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and batting superstar Virat Kohli in an elite club on Sunday (August 6) during the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series against the West Indies. The second T20I between India and the West Indies will take place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
The 32-year-old batter, who made his T20I debut for India against England in Ahmedabad on March 14, 2021, and got a chance to bat for the first time on March 18 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where he opened his account with a six against Jofra Archer on the very first ball he faced, needs three more sixes to become only the third Indian batter after Rohit and Virat to complete 100 sixes in T20Is.
As of now, with 97 maximums to his name, Surya is in the fourth position on the list of batters who have hammered the highest number of sixes for India in T20Is. But if he manages to smash three big hits in the second T20I, he will move to the No. 3 position and also join Rohit and Virat in the elite club.
