Besides CMs of non-BJP states, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the two-day conference to set the anti-BJP front’s agenda for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“We had a prolonged meeting on preparations for the third meeting of INDIA. We expect three delegates from each of the 26 opposition parties. We have given specific responsibilities to senior leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP and Congress,” UBT Sena MP Sanjay Raut told TOI.
MPCC president Nana Patole said the meeting assumes importance as it is being held after the SC stayed the conviction of Rahul Gandhi. A group of five persons from each of the MVA constituents has been set up for the meeting. The Congress group will be represented by Ashok Chavan, ex-minister Naseem Khan, Mumbai Congress president Varsha Gaikwad, Congress leader in the legislative council Satej Patil and ex-MP Sanjay Nirupam.
